2018 Taiwan Surfing Open

Jinzun Harbor in Taitung will host the Taiwan Surfing Open between Nov. 26 and Dec. 9. There are two competitions. The World Longboard Championships will be from Nov. 26 to Dec. 1, and the World Junior Championships will run from Dec. 1 through 9.
“This has proven itself as an incredible location for surfing events over the last seven years,” said Mr. Chang, one of the event organizers.
Taitung is a unique place in terms of waves. The northeast monsoons strongly contribute to the waves in the Donghe and Jinzun area, which has made Taitung one of the most famous spots for surfing in Taiwan.
“We will bring the most intense sport to the sea,” said Chang. “We provide an opportunity for the international players to further understand the beautiful east coast of Taiwan.”
Visitors planning to attend the event need not worry about transportation or accommodation.
“Some tourists even camp in their cars while visiting the competition,” said Antony, an amateur surfer from Taitung. “And I think pickup services are all available in most attractions and stations.”
Taitung has hosted the Taiwan Surfing Open since 2008. It is the 11th anniversary of the event. Surf lovers are welcome to attend.
