2018 Taitung Slow Food Festival

The sixth Slow Food Festival was held in Taitung on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18. This time, the theme was seafood. Visitors came from all over Taitung to enjoy different local cuisines.

“The purpose of the Slow Food Festival is to support the part-time farmer in Taitung,” said a spokesman for the organization on Facebook. “We hoped to create a festival that would be a new way to preserve the local food culture.”

Each Festival gathers a lot of unique caterers, farmers, and shop owners from Taitung.

“The organization set up a sink for people to wash their own dishes,” said Mr. Hong, one of the tourists. “It shows they are eco-friendly. And there are many different kinds of local food combined with seafood. It was really delicious.’’

This time, although the theme of the festival was seafood, there were many dishes available that did not include seafood.

“The Slow Food Festival lets us meet people and work together,” said the organization. “Thanks to all the friends who support and care for Taitung Slow Food Festival.”
