Taiwan International Balloon Festival 2018

The Taiwan International Balloon Festival takes place every summer in Luye, Taitung. This year the balloon show is held from June 30 to August 13, and there are also a series of activities and “night glow” concerts, which combine live musical performances with illuminated hot air balloons and other light shows.

“The balloon festival connects with the local community, and it also attracts people from around the world,” said Ms.Chang, a Taitung government worker. “Through the balloon festival and concerts people can learn more about Taitung, and enjoy the beauty of Taitung.”

※Night Glow Concert

There will be seven concerts held in different locations around Taitung at the following times:

June 30, 7:00 p.m. Luye highland, Luye Township
July 7, 4:30a.m. Sanshentai, Chenggong Township (sunrise concert)
July 14- 7:00 p.m. Zhi-Hang Air Base, Taitung city
July 21- 7:00 p.m. Dapo lake, Chishang Township
Aug 4 - 4:30 a.m. The Aurora garden, Taimali Township (sunrise concert
Aug 11- 7:00 p.m. Jhihban Hot Spring, Beinan Township
Aug 13- 7:00 p.m. Luye highland, Luye Township

“It was my first time to truly experience the beauty of Taitung, when I saw the view of the balloon with the sunset,” said Ms.Chou, a tourist who attended to the festival last year.

The balloons that perform are different year to year. This year there are 39 types of hot air balloons that will participate. Some of them represent elements of Chinese culture, for example, the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. This year is the year of dog; therefore, there will be a bulldog balloon.

🔼Session2：5:00p.m~7:00p.m / purchase time：4:00 p.m.
