In the daytime, Zheng Qi road is a street with many fruit and vegetable stands. It is the best place to buy Taitung’s local seasonal fruits. On holiday nights, it turns into a tourist night market.
“When I walked into the night market, the atmosphere was really good,” said Miss Zhang, a visitor from Hualien. “Although there are not a lot of venders, like at other night markets, all of the food tastes pretty delicious.
The tourist night market in Taitung was launched in July 2010. The bright and shining Zheng Qi road added a lively atmosphere to the night.
“Many visitors to Taitung report that there are no other tourist activities except hot springs at night, and that the downtown area of Taitung in the evening is really depressing,” said the administrator of a Taitung travel blog. “But since July 30, 2010, the Taitung Night Market has been open for sightseeing. Many tourists have a good place to visit at night.”
Shopkeepers place all kinds of fruit in front of the shops for people to choose from. Many fruits of the season can be bought here.
On Thursday to Saturday nights, the night market is open for sightseers. In addition to street foods, there are also many facilities for playing, offering entertainment. It also gives tourists another choice to visit and relax at night.
